What are the different ways to launch SQL Optimizer?
NOTE: Ensure the Toad for Oracle license key has the SQL Optimizer option. At least a Toad for Oracle Xpert license key is required to have the SQL Optimizer option. Go to Toad for Oracle’s Help | Licensing menu to verify the license key type.
If you have the SQL Optimizer Option, then the icons and buttons for SQL Optimizer will be enabled in your Toad.
Here are some ways to access SQL Optimizer.
A) Run your query in the Toad Editor and ensure it runs fine. Next, go to the Database menu | Optimize | “Advanced SQL Optimization”.
B) While in the Toad Editor window | run a valid query statement | then look for the “Auto Optimize SQL” icon (looks like a purple tuning fork with the word ‘SQL’ in it and a lightning bolt) | then click on the drop-down arrow | select “Advanced SQL Optimization”.
C) Go to Start | All Programs | Quest Software | Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle | click “Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle <version>.”
