Error during restore "cannot retrieve DC properties from the domain due to the following error: Directory object not found"
Description
The below error may occur duing the restore of an object in the Online Restore Wizard:
"cannot retrieve DC properties from the domain due to the following error: Directory object not found"
Cause
The DC may have been demoted and promoted since the time the backup was taken.
Resolution
If a DC has been demoted and promoted as a domain controller, the backups prior to this operation will be unusable as technically it is a new DC in the domain.
