"TNS listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor" error when using verify connection for Oracle database agent -
Description
A RAC agent does not validate the nodes correctly using Verify Connection in the Administration page.
When the nodes validate, the following message keeps appearing despite having changed the settings in the Agent Status Properties.

Cause
The agent had been created using Agent Status page it used the general settings by default. This is contrary to using the Installer method that “knows” to direct the agent to use the correct secondary agents instead.
Using the Database Agent Installer is the correct way to create and handle the RAC DB agents.

Resolution
Delete the database agent and recreate the agent using the Database Installer.
