Unable to install the Administrative service on a 2012R2 server.
The SMWinService_errors.log may show:
ERROR [20] LogInstance : Handle WCF ErrorSystem.ServiceModel.CommunicationException: The socket connection was aborted. This could be caused by an error processing your message or a receive timeout being exceeded by the remote host, or an underlying network resource issue. Local socket timeout was '10675199.02:48:05.4775807'. ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host -
Cause
This may be caused by misconfigured Registry settings on the target server. -
Resolution
To resolve this issue, apply the registry settings listed below on the target server.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA\FipsAlgoritmPolicy - Set Enabled = 0
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA\ - Remove "EnPasFitV2x64" from Notification Packages
