Some Person documents are not created as Contact objects in the CMN subcontainer in AD via the Directory Connector. There is no error and no discovery in the CMN.log.
This is caused by the Allow Foreign Directory Synchronization parameter in the Advanced tab of a Person document being set to No. CMN is working as intended as there is a default exclude which covers this value. CMN is working as designed.
To resolve this issue and have the Person documents synched over into Exchange, the Allow Foreign Directory Synchronization needs to be set to Yes.
