When running Spotlight on Messaging Server Health Test against target Exchange Server, the test completes and shows a warning for MemoryPool Nonpaged Bytes counter.
This counter exists to allow diagnosis of problems when connection counts are higher than they should be.
Microsoft best practice has been used to set test threshold values and these may not be correct for all customers environments.
If this warning is regularly received investigate the high memory use and contact Microsoft if abnormal, alternatively adjust the threshold value to something more suitable for the environment.
Also, if this counter is of no interest MemoryPool Nonpaged Bytes can be deleted from the Server Health test configuration entirely.
To Adjust the Server Health Test Configuration please follow the below steps:
1. Right Click the Server Health Test - Select Edit
2. Select the Exchange Version being monitored 2003,2007 or 2010
3. Navigate to Performance Counters - MemoryPool Nonpaged Bytes
4. Highlight the value in the Warning column and key a higher value that better suits the environment
5. Click Finish to save configuration changes
To Delete the counter entirely follow steps 1 - 4 but highlight the MemoryPool Nonpaged Bytes counter, Right Click - Delete
