The HSM Store has reached it's media limit

NOTE: This article only applies to Jukebox, Harddisk and Network Share type of MediaStore. This has a separate service, which has a name that starts with PMS_STORENAME. This does not apply to Simple Path store, which does not have the extra PMS service.

This error normally occurs because the maximum declared HSM medias (hs00001, hs0002..) has been reached. By default, 100 medias can be administered with a size of 5GB each. In order to extend the number of medias, please do the following:

1. Run the Archive Manager Configuration Tool, navigate to HSM component > Stores tab.
2. Find the respective HSM store that is used for archiving. Media type of store should indicate "Running" state. NOTE: Simple store does not indicate any state and these steps do not apply to this type of store.
3. Stop the Media store using the Manage button. Media store service can also be stopped using Windows services.

   

4. Double-click on the store to manage settings for it. Follow the wizard to increase the maximum value of medias (e.g. 200).
5. Start the store to put it back into "Running" state using the Manage button or by starting the service in the Windows services.
