Starting with SharePlex 9.0 and up, the –s option for launching SharePlex is no longer supported and the launching of sp_cop fails.
There is a way to simulate the “-s” option when launching SharePlex.
Prior to shutting down SharePlex, stop all child processes.
Upon subsequent restart of sp_cop, the child processes will not spawn automatically and will need to be restarted manually.
This simulates what was done when sp_cop was launched with “-s” option.
The workaround is not feasible in following scenarios and there is no way to simulate the option:
A: If this is a first time start of SharePlex after a new install.
B: If SharePlex crashed it will not provide an opportunity to shutdown the child processes prior to the shutdown.
C: If the license key expired and SharePlex was shutdown automatically due to expired key.
