Logon delay for five minutes, computer freezes 5 minutes at startup (4298906)

On some computers, logon takes 5 minutes to finish and lines below are displayed on the last lines of sltrace.htm file, showing a 5 min. gap:

This can happen on start with  a five minutes delay when computer starts for the first time every day.

This behavior has been narrowed to a Microsoft Upgrade affecting DLL libraries, it causes Event Viewer entries as follow:

The cause of this delay has been under investigation and escalated with Microsoft.   The January 16, 2020 update from Microsoft is that their engineers have determined the root cause for the issue, which resides in their MAPI code when it makes HTTP requests, and that logic blocks the request for 5 minutes, causing the delay. 

The fix is already in the mainstream releases of Office 365 (build 12524 and higher).

If not able to use the monthly channel updates/fixes:

As a workaround, disable any and all Microsoft Outlook Profile and Microsoft Outlook Settings elements in order to avoid the delay until such time as the exact underlying cause can be established.
