When running the upgrade of Desktop Authortiy, the user is prompted for the user credentials for the Desktop Authority Operations and Manager service. Entering any set of credentials fails and returns an invalid credentials message.
DAInstaller.log may show:
Validation failed: The specified WinService user ('domain\username') is not a domain user.
Validating step ServiceCredentialsStepViewModel failed.
On the Desktop Authority Server, click the Start menu and browse to All Programs | Quest | Desktop Authority Setup Tool.
When the Setup Tool is opened follow these steps:
Click "Connect" to start the communication with Desktop Authority databases.
Click "Edit properties" and complete the fields for database, services and IIS credentials, save the settings and click "Yes" when prompted to restart the services.
Select the Service Management tab, change the port under the Desktop Authority Manager Service settings to the new recommended port of 57238, then click the Update settings button.
The Desktop Authority Manager service will restart and upgrade will work.
