Can I log on to a database on a different Domain? Bridge domains has worked and have access to other Microsoft applications and would like to enter the network specific username and password (eg. <domain_name>\<username>) in a dialog that appears and have access to the database.
RESOLUTION 1:
Toad for SQL Server searches for databases that are on the Domain and their is no way of modifying or entering the exact location of the server that you are trying to reach if it is not on the domain.
These authentications are related to the OS. Network, database authentication and authorization mechanism are out of Toads control.
RESOLUTION 2:
In newer versions of Toad for SQL Server (i.e. TSS 5.7, 6.0), follow the steps below:
1) In the ‘Create New Connection’ window | click the (…) ellipses button by “Server name”.
2) The ‘Select Server’ window will open.
3) Use the “Search in domain” blue link at the bottom.
Note: To use a different Windows Username, perform a Shift-Right-Click on the TSS shortcut and select “Run as a different user“ (for Windows 7).
