Description

In an environment with three test server connections running Windows version 6.1.7600, there are the following repeated, but intermittent, WMI query failures...

'Collection 'Processes' failed : WMI query 'Win32_process' failed : Out of memory. [0x80041006]'

... for OS data which causes the SQL connections to not be able to show data and log sizes. The only connections that have this behaviour are only those with this Windows version.
Cause

The "Win32_Service" WMI class leaks memory in Windows Server 2008 R2 and in Windows 7.
Resolution
