In the process of identifying hidden out of sync on tables and keeping a log of the findings, one may want to know if compare can be used to update the out of sync entries in the statusdb (status database) for tables discovered by compare to be out of sync.
Since SharePlex only records out of sync in the statusdb once Post encounters it, there may be “hidden” out of sync yet to be discovered by Post. Compare can be used to identify such hidden out of sync but it will not log its findings in the statusdb. So once compare determines that a table is out of sync, users need to keep track of such findings and not expect the “show sync” issued at sp_ctrl to provide the listing of out of sync tables from status database. In its current working, SharePlex logs the out of sync entries in statusdb only if Post finds one but not if compare finds such out of sync.
