Cause
Partition bound specified in ALTER TABLE ADD PARTITION statement did not collate higher than that of the table's last partition. -
Resolution
Ignore the DDL error by setting the following parameter on target sp_ctrl:
sp_ctrl>set param SP_OPO_STOP_ON_DDL_ERR 0sp_ctrl>start postOnce the error has been bypassed, then unset the parameter by:sp_ctrl>reset param SP_OPO_STOP_ON_DDL_ERRsp_ctrl>stop postsp_ctrl>start postFor future changes to partition, ensure that the partition bound of the partition to be added collates higher than that of the table's last partition.
For now, one can manually add the partition on the target table during a quiet time and resync that partition as appropriate. -
