All Academic licenses are done via Nalpeiron at https://my.nalpeiron.com

Make sure that the user has filled out the form before proceeding with the license key!

When logged in to Nalpeiron, go to Allocate codes:

We will fill out the information here:

A number of codes to allocate is always 1 because we just want to allocate 1 code per user.

Code profile is always Academic.

The company can be left as 'None (Default)' or if you find the school name you may select it.

Reference is where we put the Academic Institution's name.

It should look like this:

Click on Allocate Codes.

You will see a new code right below on the list.

Click on Download set of codes to get the license key.

A text file will be downloaded and will look like this when you open up:

Now search for the license code

Select Edit

Fill in the maintenance end date, Provide the user with a 1-year license key. 

Copy the code and send it to the user in the below template ( can be found in the MACROS) :

How to activate a license:

If you have the license information, on the erwin Data Modeler Licensing dialog box, do the following:

1. Under Licensing, enter the License Code that you received from erwin Support or your license administrator.
2. Under Customer Information, enter your email address and other information.
3. Activate the license (you can activate the license online)

This method is the default and connects to the licensing service over the Internet. The licensing service then validates the license code that you entered. To activate a license online, perform steps 1 and 2 mentioned above and click OK.
