Resolution
Q. I’ve just installed the erwin 9.7 trial and it gives this error when I attempt to run the product.
“A license for erwin Data Modeler could not be obtained. The application will shut down.
Message: “Cannot find license file.”
If you think this is in error, please contact Technical Support to help you solve your licensing problems and reference the following error codes: Error Codes: 7(-1,359,2)

Solution:
- 9.7 does not contain a Community License by default. You probably missed downloading teh trial license before downloading the product.
Download a trial license by going back to your trial welcome email, and just above the download links you will see a Trial license link. Click on this and download the license file. - Launch erwin 9.7 again. Click on “Install License File“. Browse to where the trial license is saved to your PC (typically in the Downloads directory) and Click “OK”.
The Erwin 9.7 Data Modeler will now start and you can start your evaluation.
