I used MartUpgrade to upgrade my mart. However, my windows domain users are missing from my destination mart. -
Resolution
If you are working with ORACLE database, you must set a prerequisite on your Oracle dbms in order to properly migrate your Windows domain users. The OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX parameter should be NULL in the Source Mart.
The problem occurs because this Prerequisite is required:
The OS_AUTHENT_PREFIX parameter should be NULL in the Source Mart (i.e., r8.x/ r7.x ) of Oracle database. Otherwise a prefix is added for the windows/Domain users in Oracle database like Ex:“OPS$DOMAIN/USERNAME”. Once we upgraded the users from the source Oracle Mart to the destination Oracle Mart the Windows/Domains user cannot connect the r9 Mart, because of the prefix added to the user._Please see the attached document How to Add windows or Domain Users in Oracle and how to migrate to r9 mart.pdf (409 kb) that shows how to remedy this problem.- If you are working with SQL SERVER database, these prerequisites must be in place in order to migrate the users successfully:
a) The source mart users must exist in both the database level security and the SQL Server level security.
b) The User Name that is typed into the MartUpgrade Source Mart Details must have the "securityadmin" or "sysadmin" server role
NOTE: a user that has only the public role can use MartUpgrade but cannot upgrade the users.
