FMS repository database size is huge because of registry tables (4289317)

Foglight repository database size is huge. This is mainly because of the below registry tables,

CAUSE 1

Registry tables stores too many records for each changes in the Foglight configuration. These old records are not being purged or cleaned up regularly causing the growth of these tables.

CAUSE 2

Database cartridges write the same values multiple times to the registry which can cause numerous history records as the number of agents increases resulting in significant rapid growth of the registry tables.

RESOLUTION 1

WORKAROUND:

Please download the attached hotfix and follow the instructions as per HotFix_Instructions.docx.

STATUS:

Change Request FGLCM-94 has added to the 5.9.8 and higher releases of the Foglight Management Server to perform daily cleanup of the Foglight registry tables.

Please contact Quest R&D for hotfix (FDH-52) specific to the Foglight system environment. 

STATUS

Defect ID FOM-744 has been logged for this issue and has been fixed in the 5.9.7.20 and higher releases of the database cartridges.
