Cause
You have some SQL Backup files (.bak) that you would like to use for restoring on Backup for SharePoint -
Resolution
The SQL Server Backup (BAK) File option mounts databases from a SQL server .BAK files. Thisoption includes full, differential, and transaction log backups. You can mount several .BAK files ofthe same content database.In order to Mount a SQL Server Backup File, do the following:1. In the Metalogix Backup for SharePoint Management Console, in the left pane, click GranularRestore.2. Launch the Mount and Link Content Database wizard by doing one of the following:· Select Mount and Link CDB from the top menu.· Select File, and choose the Mount and Link CDB option.Select the Import and Mount tab from the left hand panel, and choose the Mount and LinkContent Database option.3. Click Next on the Welcome page.
4. On the Source Type page, select SQL Server Backup (BAK) File - including full, differential, andtransaction logs, as the content database source type. Click Next.5. On the Target SQL Server page, enter the name of a SQL Server, or Browse for one. Either usethe backup service credentials or enter the server's credentials. Click Next.6. On the BAK Import Options page, select the way in which you would like to locate fullbackups, differential backups, and transaction logs. -
