The SQL Server Backup (BAK) File option mounts databases from a SQL server .BAK files. This
option includes full, differential, and transaction log backups. You can mount several .BAK files of
the same content database.
In order to Mount a SQL Server Backup File, do the following:
1. In the Metalogix Backup for SharePoint Management Console, in the left pane, click Granular
Restore.
2. Launch the Mount and Link Content Database wizard by doing one of the following:
· Select Mount and Link CDB from the top menu.
· Select File, and choose the Mount and Link CDB option.
Select the Import and Mount tab from the left hand panel, and choose the Mount and Link
Content Database option.
3. Click Next on the Welcome page.
4. On the Source Type page, select SQL Server Backup (BAK) File - including full, differential, and
transaction logs, as the content database source type. Click Next.
5. On the Target SQL Server page, enter the name of a SQL Server, or Browse for one. Either use
the backup service credentials or enter the server's credentials. Click Next.
6. On the BAK Import Options page, select the way in which you would like to locate full
backups, differential backups, and transaction logs.
