INTERNAL USE ONLY:
Problem:
Application was working till this morning, now I am encountering an issue to open it. When I open the application, it only opens in the taskbar and doesn’t open the interface at all.
Solution:
The reason this happens is because when an application is closed the parameters are stored in the registry. So, the last time it was closed it may have been in the minimized state.
To bring it back, hover over the minimized application on the taskbar with the mouse until the application is displayed, move your mouse pointer to the application preview and then right-click that and choose to maximize.
If the above right click does not work
Hover your mouse pointer over the application on the taskbar, press Shift+Ctrl and then right-click to get the menu containing the Restore or Maximize options.
Alternative Methods:
1. Right-click on the desktop, select Refresh and see if that helps
2. Press Win+M keys and then Win+Shift+M keys to minimize and the maximize all windows.
3. Press WinKey+Up/Down arrow key
4. Press Alt+Space and see if the Maximize/Restore/Minimize, etc, box appears. If it does, use it.
5. Open Task Manager, kill the program process and start it again.
If all else fails:
Customers IT Support team should be requested to rename the application registry entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ by putting .old on the end of the file path having previously Backed up the current registry settings
BACK UP the registry. Go to File->Export and save the current status.
Once the path is renamed launch the application, this process creates a new folder which now uses the default parameters. Since the default is not set as minimized, that opens the application as expected.
