To improve public folder migration performance it can be split between two Exchange servers.
When Folder1 has Folder 1A, 1B as sub-folders and public folders sync job is configured to synchronize Folder1 and all hierarchy below to Exch1 server.
You may decide to move 1B and all sub-folders on another Exchange server Exch2.
Only one agent can handle Sync Job between two servers, therefore to improve sync performance you might decide to synchronize part of PF hierarchy into another server.
1)Exclude Folder 1B from the original sync job
2) Move Foler 1B with all sub-folders to Exch2 using PublicFolderMoveRequest cmdlet (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj906435(v=exchg.150).aspx)
3)Create new PF synchronization job and set Folder 1B on source Exchange as a source folder and migrated on step 2) Folder 1B on Exch2 as a target.
4) PUB files that has been migrated as a part of original job and belongs to Folder 1B will be processed as normal and shouldn't be moved or deleted.
