When Exchange users open a message coming from a Notes user on their iPhone they only see "mime-attachment" instead of the body of the message. They can read the preview line of that message on their iPhone however. In Outlook the message displays correctly.
This issue is caused by the way MIME is encapsulated on the Domino server during the message's conversion to an SMTP compliant transport format.
Resolution 1: Upgrade to CMN 3.5.1.43 or later, which include the following Enhancement Request:
#295332 CMN's Mail Connector now processes Exchange-bound messages so mobile devices no longer render such messages with extraneous mime-attachment.htm attachments.
Resolution 2: (Available in CMN 3.4.0.127 and later)
CMN's Mail Connector can now be configured to process messages for proper display on older iOS devices connected to Exchange. The feature is optional because older versions of iOS require that message attachments be hidden for the messages to render correctly in Exchange 2007. This behavior is enabled/disabled by a new boolean program parameter in the <root> node of the Mail Connector Configuration.xml file:
The parameter is set to false by default, since most organizations choose to make the attachments visible in Exchange. To hide attachments and preserve support for older iOS devices, set the parameter to true.
Resolution 3: (For versions of CMN prior to 3.4.0.127)
To resolve this issue, change the MIME configuration on the Notes server responsible for doing the SMTP conversion.
Edit the Configuration document on the Notes server - MIME - Conversion Options - Outbound.
Change the message content value from "Create multi-part alternative including conversion and encapsulation" to "from Notes to Plain Text and HTML".
Please be aware that these settings changed in Resolution 2 may conflict with other settings needed for ActiveMail to work correctly.
