When merging with contacts, can I preserve the contact's attributes - for example - displayname? (4286483)

When migrating/synchronizing and the merging with contacts on the target, can I preserve attributes from the contact?

For example, I would like the resulting user object to keep the contact's displayname.   Is this possible?

This is not supported.   When merging with contacts, the Directory Synchronization Agent keeps only  the contact's membership, and adds it's LegacyExchangeDN attribute as an X.500 address.
