Foglight Agent Manager is unable to start and connect to Foglight Management Server -
Description
Foglight Agent Manager (FglAM) is unable to start and connect to Foglight Management Server (FMS). The FglAM logs showed the below error:
2017-11-16 00:50:09.906 ERROR [Startup Thread] com.quest.glue.core.Glue - Unable to start. Cause: nulljavax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException- with linked exception:[org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 429; columnNumber: 29; cvc-complex-type.2.3: Element 'config:glue-configuration' cannot have character [children], because the type's content type is element-only.] -
Cause
The fglam.config.xml file is corrupted and cannot be successfully validated against the XSD (XML Schema Definition) as the sequence of attributes were wrongly modified. -
Resolution
Once the fglam.config.xml file is fixed and the sequence of attributes was set as per the XSD, the FglAM came up successfully and was able to connect to FMS.
The file is located in $FGLAM_HOME/state/default/config.
If you have a backup copy available, please replace the corrupt one with the one from the backup. If no backup is available, open the file in an XML editor and find the wrong syntax.
