I am trying to run the Oracle User Wizard to create a Spotlight schema. I am being prompted for SYSDBA account to create that user. Do I really need a SYSDBA role to install the Spotlight User?
Yes you do need a schema with SYSDBA role to run the Oracle User Wizard to create a Spotlight User. The getting started guide states the following:
Enter a DBA user name for that database instance (so that the Spotlight user and the relevant objects can be created). The user name requires SYSDBA access.
If you do not have a user with SYSDBA role, please send the script to the DBA to install the Spotlight User for you. The script will need to be run on all the databases that you need to monitor.
The Spotlight User Script is located in the following install path:
C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Spotlight\Plug-ins\SoO\OracleScripts\install.sql
