I created the following two files (FTPTEST.txt and FTPTEST.dat) with the data below:
ABCDEFG
HIJKLMNOP
QRSTUVWXYZ
When SFTP and FTP via Toad from DOS to UNIX environment I see the line-feed character ^M when I open the files in UNIX using the command 'vi.'
ABCDEFG^M
HIJKLMNOP^M
QRSTUVWXYZ^M
WORKAROUND 1:
In some environments, the issue does not exist when using FTP in Toad, only with SFTP. If you do not need a secure transfer, try using FTP.
WORKAROUND 2:
Use the UNIX command "dos2unix" to reformat the files sent.
STATUS:
Waiting for fix in a future release of Toad for Oracle.
Issue may exist with any of these file extensions.
