5.8.5 WebMonitor agent error 400 yet wget command returns status 200 = OK -
Description
Some web pages monitored by Foglight WebMonitor indicate their state is 404 page not found, but when opening the page from fms server using the web browser, it is UP and with state 200 OK. wget tool obtained the status 200 OK.
Foglight and External Agent Manager are installed on the same server. -
Cause
That host will return a 404 unless the "Accept: */*" HTTP header is sent with the request (wget does this by default). -

Solution:
That WebMonitor agent's query will return a 404 unless the "Accept: */*" HTTP header is sent with the request (wget does this by default).
This can be set in the URL list in the agent properties field "Custom Header". See pg 32 of 106 in the attached Infrastructure Utilities Guide.

Reason: Customer environment, Website composition, etc. By default WebMonitor uses HTML content. -
