The error message below is encountered when activating a StoragePoint license key:
An error occurred while activating the license: Invalid data was sent to the license server. You have reached the allowed server installation count.

Resolution
Verify that the number of licenses utilized is not less than the number of SharePoint servers, including WFE and application, in the farm. The example below denotes how the number of licensed servers is calculated.
If a client has 4 StoragePoint Web Front End (WFE) licenses, the maximum number of server the client can have for the override bit to work should be:
4 + [(number of license (4)) x 0.5] = 6
So, if a client has a total of 6 servers, including WFE and application, then the client can use the override bit and use the license. However, if they have 7 or 8 servers, they would need to acquire more licenses.
