How to Remove a Domain Controller from the DA Manager. (4281149)

It is sometimes necessary to decommission a domain controller and to remove all associations of the domain controller from Desktop Authority.   This article provides the steps necessary to remove a DC from the manager console in the Desktop Authority console.

If the Domain Controller is set as a Replication target in Server Manager:
     

• Select the Domain Controller that will be removed.
• Click Properties (or right click over the Domain Controller and Select Properties).
• In the Server Properties Window, click Edit Properties button.
• Uncheck "User Replication Target" and "Computer Replication Target".
• Click the Save button and then click the "Back" link (located to the right of the Edit Properties button).
• Replicate changed files. 

After this:

• With the same Domain Controller selected click Administrative Service and select Remove (Click Refresh if necessary).
• Remove the Update service is it is installed.
• Click Delete and Yes  to remove the Domain Controller from the Service Management.
• Press the "Replicate Changed Files" button in order to push the changes out to the replication targets.

If the Domain Controller is not a Replication target:

• Click Administrative Service and select Remove (Click Refresh if necessary).
• Remove the Update service is it is installed.
• Click Delete and Yes  to remove the Domain Controller from the Service Manager grid.
• Press the "Replicate Changed Files" button in order to push the changes out to the replication target.
