Site collection administrators cannot see their site collections (4277525)

When launching ControlPoint, the logged in user should be able to access all site collections that they have administrator status on, or are listed in the Web Application User Policy as Full Control for. However, circumstances may occur where the user sees the site collection as grayed out and are unable to interact with it.

In these instances, ControlPoint does not recognize the user as being a site collection administrator or having the appropriate rights in the Web Application User Policy. The most common cause is from the user being a member of an Active Directory group. To improve performance, ControlPoint does not query AD groups it finds to be site collection administrators.

1. Open the ControlPoint Configuration Site (e.g. http://servername:1818).
2. Select the ControlPoint Settings list and expand the Special-Purpose category.

   

3. Edit the SiteAdminAD parameter and change its value to true.

   

4. Save the parameter.
5. Recycle the ControlPoint application pool in IIS Manager. The site collection administrators in AD groups should now be able to administrate their site collections in ControlPoint.
