Cause
Directed Broadcasts might be disabled across subnets or another setting might prevent sending magic packets. -
Resolution
Check the configuration of the routers to determine whether Directed Broadcasts are being blocked. If Directed Broadcasts are allowed, then test one of the magic packet utilities under the Wake On Lan section of the US Department of Energy’s Energy Star website Energy Star.
