How can I delete QCS created mailboxes from Exchange without affecting the GAL entries?
Why do my QCS created user objects have mailboxes in Exchange and how can I remove the mailbox.
You are or were at one time subscribed to calendar information.
Step 1,
Make sure you are no longer subscribed to any Calendar subscriptions.
If you subscription is both AD object and Calendar you will need to get the publisher to edit the publication and remove the calendar information.
Step 2,
To delete the mailboxes and not affect the GAL entries would be to move the Ad Objects to a temporary OU on the subscriber, and create a deletion rule. This will delete the AD object in the temp OU along with the mailbox and create a new AD object under the QCS container with no mailbox.
1. In Active Directory Users and Computers create a temporary OU.
2. Create the deletion rule In the QCS console under QCS Properties - synchronization - automation - deletion, configure a resolution rule to delete conflicted objects in the container where the original stub objects will be moved.
Step 3
Then stop the 3 QCS services stopping the watchdog service first and then move the AD objects with mailboxes to the Temp OU and then start the services.
Step 4
In the QCS console right click on your subscription with the mailbox enabled AD objects and request republish, the object and its mailbox will be deleted and a new disabled AD object will be created in the existing QCS container.
