Active Directory Processing Wizard (ADPW) appears frozen and is not writing to the ADPW.log file. Also, the Progress indicator may not be updating.
ADPW does not write to the ADPW.log file during certain stages of processing. It writes to a temporary location, then copies that log to the ADPW.log file when finished. See Resolution section for more details.
ADPW writes to the following location while it is processing:
%temp%\adpw_{GUID.EN}.log
Where {GUID.EN} is a unique string value. You can check this log to confirm that ADPW is still processing.
Also, the progress indicator does not always update continuously when ADPW is run from the console. This is a known issue and is scheduled to be fixed in future versions.
If you have a very large environment, it is normal for ADPW to take many hours if not days to complete processing.
