Error Log Entries are checked with specific entries to scan for in the error log. The Alarm Actions are setup to send an email with Error Log Entries. Then the Scheduling is set to collect data in the background at specific times.
However, no email is ever fired off or the amounts of email notifications are noticeably not proportional to the number of times the error string shows up in the error log.
1. Spotlight is looking back 24 hours rather than the changed time period.
2. Spotlight changes the error count, but does not change the time when it does the collection, and therefore does not raise a new alarm.
