Copy/Move Error: Make sure location does exist and in correct format (4272853)

The "Make sure location does exist and in correct format" error message is encountered when doing a Copy/Move action in ControlPoint.

This error usually refers to the temporary location specified in the Copy parameters. The location may exist, but if the ControlPoint service account or the account you are logged in with do not have Full Control permissions to that location, ControlPoint will report that the location does not exist.

• Make sure the temporary location is accessible from all farms taking part in the Copy/Move action (source and destination farm, if doing a cross-farm copy).
• Try using the full UNC path for the temporary location to make sure the action is not referencing to the local machine.

  

• Make sure that both the ControlPoint service account and the account performing the Copy/Move action have explicit Full Control permission over the temporary location.
