There are multiple errors during gathering. In most cases, the affected system will successfully complete collection of one data source (i.e. Windows Security Log) but will fail the other two sources in the gathering task (Windows System Log and Windows Application Log). The logs which succeed or fail are different with each gathering session. (The same server will successfully complete the security log, but fail the system and app logs. On the next gathering cycle, the application log might succeed, while the security and system logs fail.)
Error messages a different with each job and system:
Failed to install package on agent. ADC Error: Proxy disconnected (0x8adc2c25)
Failed to install package on agent. ADC Error: Reply timeout (0x8adc2c20)
Errors encountered at data collection. ADC Error: Proxy disconnected (0x8adc2c25)
Errors encountered at data collection. ADC Error: No connection (0x8adc1003)
Due to the fact that the errors would vary per system and per gathering job running, This seemed to be caused by a network related issue.
1. Split the site up into two sites.
2. Create two gathering jobs to collect separately from the two sites.
3. Set the two gathering jobs to run consecutively.
This should reduce the load required and allow the jobs to finish.
