How to run TRACE file to debug SQL Navigator issues? This is useful for debugging purposes.
To create a TRACE file within SQL Navigator, enable it within the Preferences settings.
1. Go to VIEW | PREFERENCES | GENERAL | SESSION
2. On the right hand side, in the TRACE section, check Enable.
Checking the level will record what type of messages that the trace file will record.
A TRACE file will have the following file format: navlog0000.log .
It will be located in one's folder: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Dell\Roaming\Dell\SQL Navigator<version number>
It will be created AFTER one exits SQL Navigator.
Checking Enable will log all transactions that SQL Navigator runs in the background to the file. This will significantly slow down all database access operations in subsequent sessions. Uncheck this setting after generating the TRACE.
