How to clone SharePoint permissions across trusted domains (4267298)

Senerio: CyberMedia just acquired a domain called Futuretech and migrated the the users from Cybermedia to Futuretech. They need to grant the same users now in the Futuretech domain, the permission they had in the CyberMedia Sharepoint sites.

Via Security Explorer Sharepoint Security module, select the site with the permission to be cloned, and click the “Clone” button at the bottom of the screen, (figure 1).

NOTE: To keep things simple, this example will be limited to cloning users; however Security Explorer does have the ability to clone group permissions and memberships.

Select the source domain from the “List Names From” dropdown list and click “Show Users”. Select the target domain from the “List Names From” dropdown list and click “Show Users”. Select the source and target user pairs from both domains and click “OK” to begin the cloning process, (figure 2).

When the clone process completes users from Futuretech domain will be granted the same permission to the same objects as their Cybermedia counterpart, (figure 3).
