When opening an archived email with an attachment the email does not show the attachment but displays the following Error:
Unable to save to C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\xxxxxxxxx.xx with ADO Stream ADODB.Stream. Write to file failed.
On Windows Vista and Windows 7 the error message location shows:
Unable to save to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\<Folder>\<FileName> with ADO Stream.
The Outlook Form assumes the destination folder exists when trying to reconstruct a message which has been stripped/stubbed.
1. Open an non-archive email in Outlook with attachment.
2. Then open the archive email with attachment that has this problem.
If steps 1 & 2 do not resolve the error, do the following:
3. Navigate to the folder path detailed in the error message and delete the contents of the 'content.outlook' folder.
NOTE: On Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines these folders are hidden and not visible when browsing. Navigate to C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows and then type the rest of the path.
4. Close and open Outlook
5. Repeat Steps 1 & 2.
