Deleting a License in the Toad for Oracle Help | License window returns:
“Windows cannot find
‘C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle 13.1\SaveLicense.exe\.
Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. “
Confirm that user did not manually delete the ProductLicenses.xml.
Also can occur if a ProducLicenses.xml file exists in C:\ProgramData\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06} and also c:\users\<usermame>\AppData\Local\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}\
RESOLUTION 1:
Restore the ProductLicenses.xml file if applicable, from the Recycle Bin.
RESOLUTION 2:
This can happen when the license entry exists within the ProductLicenses.xml file, located in the C:\ProgramData folder that's accessible for all users on the computer. This is not the default location for licenses entered into Toad for Oracle, so it may have either been saved there through the Installer or if you manually copied the file to your "ProgramData" folder. Making modifications to the license file in that location requires elevated privileges for Vista and higher. As a result, our licensing engine attempts to use an external application to save that license.
The preferred place for the license file should be in:
c:\users\<usermame>\AppData\Local\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}\ProductLicenses.xml.
If you are the only user on that machine, you can do the following:
- Exit Toad for Oracle
- Move the file from "C:\ProgramData\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}" to "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}"
- Restart Toad for Oracle
- Add / Delete the license(s) as needed.
If, however, the computer is a multi-workstation computer and you're trying to replace the single-seat license with a multi-seat license for all users of that workstation, still follow the steps above, but add the following steps of:
- Exit Toad for Oracle
- Move the file from "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}" back to "c:\ProgramData\{08439167-4CA5-48E9-A810-A3A7C0B80B06}"
- Restart Toad for Oracle
That should hopefully resolve the issue.
