Drilling in Toad for Oracle 12.0 via Database Menu | Reports | Reports Manager | selecting "Invalid Object" and clicking on the green play or run button, the error below is received.
The following error(s) have occurred:
Dataset “Columns” does not exist
Corruption in the Toad user files.
Reset the Toad for Oracle user files using the steps below.
1) From the Utilities menu | Copy User Settings | choose “Create a clean set of user files from the base installation” (this process will also create a backup of your old Toad user files).
2) Start your Toad for Oracle. Check if your Toad seems to have been reset to factory defaults.
3) Re-test the issue.
NOTE: if you would like to get back your Connections History, review the steps below.
Re-test the issue first before moving over your Connections History to ensure the issue is not coming from the connections files.
1) Fully Exit Toad (make sure you have checked the “Save Passwords” box in the login screen, if you prefer this).
2) Go to folder below (this is the backup for your old User Files that Toad created).
XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USER>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<ver>_bak\User Files\
-OR-
Vista or 7:
C:\Users\<YOUR_USER>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle\<ver>_bak\User Files\
3) Copy (do not use Cut or Move) both the CONNECTIONS.INI and the CONNECTIONPWDS.INI files.
Make a BACKUP of these files, just in case of errors.
NOTE: The saved connections passwords are not transferrable between computers or different Windows users.
