Does Spotlight require to calibrate upon new connection?
Spotlight does require a calibration on any newly created connection.
An existing connection may also get this message if you quit out of Spotlight and select not to save the changes.
The calibration is applied to that specific connection profile.
If you disconnect without saving, Spotlight automatically starts calibrating again when you next connect to that profile.
When prompted, just save the changes and the calibration will not come up again.
