Can Tracking Logs collections and Mailbox Content collections duplicate items in Insights? If one configures two on-premise data collections:
- Tracking Logs
- Mailbox Content (all mailboxes)
is it possible that items will be duplicated?
If not, which datasource is used in insights if both collections are configured?
Resolution

In short the answer to this is "No".
Tracking log and Mailbox Contents collection both collect email messages from Exchange mailboxes. However, if the same messages using both types of gatherings are collected, the message objects will not be duplicated.
The decision on which gatherings to set up depends on the information requested from the messages. If fast collection is required, or DLP / Journaling messages is required, then it would be good to set up tracking logs. If response time or attachments are required, and are willing to wait longer for collection, mailbox contents is the option to choose.
