I am logged in to the Foglight console as the "foglight" user but the "Alarms" dashboard and the "Reports" dashboard are not shown - why?

A preferred role had been selected under the Dashboard Filter icon, but the role selected (Administrator) was not one of the relevant roles for the Alarms or the Reports dashboards. The default Relevant roles for the Alarms dashboard and the Reports dashboard are "Advanced Operator" and "Operator".

RESOLUTION: Either uncheck the "Administrator" selection under the Filter Icon, or check the "Advanced Operator" and/or "Operator" selection in addition to the "Administrator" selection. Please see the screen shots in the "filter_icon_example.pdf" document.

The Dashboard Filter icon allows you to filter the dashboards that are displayed in the Foglight Console using preferred roles. If no roles are selected then there isn't any filtering occurring by means of the Filter icon.

The default relevant roles for the Alarms dashboard and the Reports dashboard are "Advanced Operator" and "Operator". So the Alarms and Reports dashboards will only be displayed in the Foglight console to users with one of these roles. Neither the "Advanced Operator" nor the "Operator" role had been selected as a preferred role under the Dashboard Filter so the dashboards weren't shown.
