When Resource Updating NAS devices, share permissions are not updating. You are using the /system=[NAS DEVICE] switch. You may see the following errors in vmover.log:
\\NAS_DEVICE Shares 5 (Error) Access is denied. Cannot open the registry key '\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares'. ('', RegOpenKeyEx).
and/or
\\NAS_DEVICE Shares 2 (Error) The system cannot find the file specified. Cannot open the registry key '\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Shares'. ('', RegOpenKeyEx).
You may also find that even when you are using administrative credentials, you are unable to remotely edit the registry on the NAS devices using Regedit.
This is due to a registry access problem on the NAS devices.
WORKAROUND:
To resolve this issue, please add the following entry to the Vmover.ini file, under the [Options] section:
BackupShares=No
WORKAROUND:
Waiting for a fix in a future release of Migration Manager for AD.
The above error messages were seen when processing a Netapp Filer, and an EMC Celera ns702g.
