Error: "Failed to load driver DLL - CSSOracle8 The specified procedure could not be found" -
Description
When trying to create a profile and connect to the database Benchmark Factory (BMF) gives the error:
"Failed to load driver DLL - CSSOracle8 The specified procedure could not be found"
This occurs after I enter the Net Service Name, User Name, Password and click Next. It is set to "Verify connection before proceeding". -
Cause
The CSSOracle8.dll version is not supported or the file is corrupted or you are using 64 bit Oracle client.

Resolution
RESOLUTION 1:
1. Find another working install of BMF that is the same version as the current problematic install and get a copy of the CSSOracle8.dll.
2. Replace the one in the current problematic install with this working copy.
The dll is located in the BIN folder of the BMF install directory (default C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Benchmark Factory).
RESOLUTION 2:
1. Find the directory of your working client and the path to your oci dll for that valid client. You can search for oraclient*.dll. This is usually in the BIN folder of the client install directory.
2. Go to System Properties (right click My Computer | Properties) | Advanced | Environmental Variables.
3. Under the System Variables section, find the Path variable and to the very FRONT of the value, add the path of the working oci dll that was just found.
Example:
Working oraclient9.dll was found in D:\ora92\bin.
PATH has value --

With the 64-bit version of Benchmark Factory, the user needs to install a 64-bit Oracle client. Please, check if this is possible. If the user cannot install a 64-bit Oracle client, the user will need to install the 32-bit version of Benchmark Factory to work with the Oracle client 32 bit.
