NIC agent does not collect data for all interfaces (4258256)

The NIC agent does not collect data for virtual interfaces and interface without IP configured.

The command "ifconfig" displays more interfaces than the NIC agent displays.

The NIC agent will only report interfaces deemed active.

An interface is considered active...

• AIX: if it is listed as 'available' by the lsdev utility;
• HPUX: if it is listed as 'up' by the lanscan utility;
• Linux: if it is listed among contents of the /proc/net/dev file;
• Solaris: if it is listed among 'ifconfig -a' output;
• Windows: if the 'active' property is set for the interface (listed among WMI's Win32_NetworkAdapter entries).

The new infrastructure cartridge agents behave similarly to the old OS cartridge NIC agent.
