There is currently a known issue with Microsoft print to PDF not working properly with erwin DM. It turns out that this is an issue with the Microsoft Print to PDF default Driver, not erwin DM. Since erwin DM uses Microsoft default drivers for the Microsoft Print to PDF feature, the fix for this is beyond our control.
In the meantime, you can use one of the few workarounds below as an alternative.
Workaround 1.
1. Select other printer driver.
2. Click Print button (printer driver will be reset) and all menu (Preview/Page setup / Alpha order/ Fit to page ...) will be available again.
Workaround 2.
1. Close all erwin Data Model executables running on this computer.
2. Type regedit.exe on the Search field for windows and run the windows tool.
Note: If you do not have rights, then you will need help from an Network or MIS Person to login in as Administrator User.
3. Rename HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\erwin\Data Modeler to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\erwin\Data Modeler_old.
4. Restart erwin Data Modeler.
See if the 'Preview' works now.
5. If it works temporarily and did not work again after restarting your machine or erwin DM, this might be an Administrator privileges issue. Please re-install your erwin DM with full administrator privileges.
Workaround 3.
1. Install/using alternative PDF writer "CutePDF" etc.
Workaround 4.
1. Open the model
2. Go to Tools -> Diagram Picture -> Click on "Current"
3. Save the emf file and open it (it should show you the whole model)
4. Convert the EMF to PDF format
