Migration jobs continually fail with error 5011: Failed to connect to target, even though:
(a) the target does exist and
(b) the migration agent account can access the target.
This issue can be caused due to the SharePoint web application being set up using a DNS alias rather than the server name.
File Migrator for SharePoint requires a correct Alternate Access Mapping (AAM) internal URL within SharePoint. Once the AAMs are configured correctly, the migration jobs will start working.
