O365 - Merge Contact and User ID results in wrong Mail of @subdomain -
Description
When doing provisioning process of merging contacts that was created by Co-Existence Directory connector the existing AD user objects "mail" attribute is appended with the subdomain.domain.com. -
Cause
When the merge process is run by default the contact overwites the AD User account information -
Resolution
As per the NME_Params_Ref.pdf (Search for O365DirsyncPreserveADAttrMail)

Type: boolean. Default: 1
Determines whether the Provisioning Wizard should preserve or overwrite the AD mail attribute (if any) when merging a CMN-created contact with an AD principal whose mail attribute is not empty. For example:
O365DirsyncPreserveADAttrMail=1
... tells the Wizard to preserve any existing AD mail attribute. By default (0), the attribute is overwritten.

Please note** If the Mail attribute is not populated on the user account, the contact mail attribute will be written to the user account regardless of this setting being enabled or disabled.
